The character and casting was announced on 14 January 2013. Courtney is an inmate at Crestview Correctional Centre, which Casey Braxton has to attend for his part in a failed robbery. Casey's efforts to try to keep to himself fail when Courtney notices him and they have a "run-in". Younes described Courtney as being a "stereotypical prison bully." When Casey is placed in the prison kitchens, Courtney asks him to keep an eye on some food delivery that contain drugs. When Casey stands up to Courtney and refuses, he is left "battered and bruised" by the encounter. Murray was then arrested by Police Sergent, Mike Emerson for assult of Spencer and soon, Spencer and Evelyn began to bond closer, which Sasha became jealous.

Maddy worries Roo, scarring that Roo will never wake up at all. After Maddy humiliate Evelyn in class and Josh defending her, Zac blames Maddy for starting the humiliation in class and as a result, Maddy tells Spencer that she has enough of them and wants to quit school. Mitzy later has a stroke and is rushed to hospital, where she tells Marilyn that she lied about the prediction of her death.
The character and Walton's casting was announced on 27 July 2013. Walton previously appeared in Home and Away as Rachel Watson in 1995. The actress accepted the offer to appear in the show again as it coincided with the premiere of a film that she features in, which was shown at the Sydney Film Festival.

At self-defence, she becomes frightened when Lachlan shows up and Maddy, Tamara and Sasha try to comfort her. Zac asks Lachlan to leave, but he explains that he just wants to talk to Rosie, as he has Mullens's text messages and videos of her rape. While working at the Diner, Rosie collapses and soon learns that she is pregnant. Rosie briefly leaves school, as she feels unsafe, but she soon returns.
That night, Evie sneaked out of her house and enters into the warehouse and found Spencer, badly beaten. Evie tells Spencer that they must get out of the Lodge, and told him that she had proof of Murray attacking him and that he can go home to his family. Spencer tells her that he doesn't have a home anymore, but Evie mentions Chris and Spencer agrees to return home. Evie helps him up on his feet and helps him walk out of the lodge. Spencer asked her about Ethan, and Evie said that she'll come back for him. As they walked through the bush, Spencer's injuries slows them down, causing him to fall and Evie was unable to lift him up.

As they were about to wed by Murray, Spencer stood up to him and confronted him, telling Murray that he will not have Evie as his wife. Murray slaps Spencer in the face and took him away, leaving Evie standing alone as she ends the video recording. Evelyn chose to stay with Zac and Hannah, but Spencer collapsed and Zac, Hannah and Evelyn takes him back to Summer Bay and into the hospital. Evelyn reveals that she filmed a video record of Murray attacking him at the ceremony and showed it to the police.

Spencer then chats on a hot girl identifies as Amy on the internet and asked her to come to Summer Bay. Spencer then meets a man named Keith, who reveals that he is Amy's father. Chris and Sasha checks on Amy's internet profile, realizing that it's fake and tells Spencer that it's a fake profile and that Amy's not real. And the person who Spencer chat with was Keith, but Spencer doesn't believe them. Spencer meets Amy at a motel, inviting her for a romantic picnic, but it was Keith who was there. Keith locks the door and said to Spencer that he knows and he and Spencer will be friends, he tries to touch Spencer, but he swiftly punches Keith.
Phoebe is a singer and songwriter, who grew up with Kyle in Melbourne and was "brokenhearted" when he moved away. Phoebe was billed as being "a bright, attractive and boundlessly energetic young woman". Nathaniel "Nate" Cooper, played by Kyle Pryor, made his first screen appearance on 26 September 2013.
He was initially contracted to appear in about sixteen episodes and he began shooting his first scenes in September. Sasha notices Rosie talking to Natalie Davison and presumes that Rosie has problems. Rosie refuses to let Sasha stay over her house and pays Tilda Hogan to pretend to be her younger sister Hannah. When Sasha befriends Maddy Osborne , Rosie becomes jealous. She decides to run into the sea, despite not being able to swim well and Sasha has to run in and save her. However, both girls get caught in a rip and have to be saved by Casey and John Palmer . Evelyn MacGuireEthan MacGuire, played by Matt Minto, made his first screen appearance on 2 September 2013.
But Chris returns back home to see his parents and a few months later, Chris returns to the bay to see Indi Walker, the love of his life. But Indi leave the bay and Chris stay in the bay and moves into Irene Roberts' house with him and Sasha. The two held hostage by Sean Green with Sasha and Irene at her house and threatens them with a knife. Chris saved them when Sean tries to kidnap Spencer's new girlfriend, Sasha Bezmel and Spencer became proud.
While on a date, Mullens rapes Rosie and she initially blames herself for what has happened. Sasha supports Rosie, as she reports Mullens to the police. Rosie attends Zac MacGuire's self-defence classes and befriends Bella Lugrano (Hayley Mitchell-Miller), who later tells her that she was raped by Mullens too. The next day, Bella meets up with Rosie and Sasha at the Diner and tells them that she reported her rape to the police. One of Mullens's friends, Lachlan Stone stalks Rosie and scares her.
